Elections 10 – Full Results

Following the resolution of a minor technical issue, and the conclusion of investigations the remain results were announced in the Union just after 5pm, meaning that the full list of results for this year’s Student Elections stands as:

Elections 10 – Announcement of the Remaining Results

We’ve had the go-ahead from Returning Officer (Mike Day, NUS Scotland Director), and will be announcing the results of the remaining election positions TODAY (Friday 2nd) at 5pm on the second floor of the Union.

Elections 10 – The Results…So Far

Returning Officer Mike Day (Director of NUS Scotland) has just announced the results of this year’s Student Elections in the Union. He stated that due to some complaints having been received, as well as a minor IT issue, only the uncontested positions have been announced.

An investigation is ongoing regarding the contested positions and we hope to have the remainder of the results announced tomorrow (Thursday 1st April).

Voting is now open for this year’s Student Elections! Click here to cast your vote, and help decide which students will represent you next year. You have until 2pm on Wednesday 31st March to cast your vote, with results being announced later that evening at the Union’s Big Election Results Party.

Elections 10 – How To Make Your Mind Up

Well, we’re almost there. The 2010 RGU Student Elections are very nearly open. Have you worked out who’s going to get your vote? How will you make your mind up?

Click here to go to our elections page, where you’ll find a full list of the contested positions and each of the candidates running. Simply click on somebody’s face to be taken to their dedicated manifesto page. Here you’ll find out what they intend to do to help you if elected. If they’ve submitted a manifesto video, you can view this on their page also.

These elections are important, and shape the way that the Union will be run for the next twelve months, so take a few minutes to read through each candidate’s page and make sure that you vote for the person you think will be best for the job!

To vote, you simply need to be a matriculated RGU student. When 9am hits this morning, you have a week to cast your vote by going to www.rguunion.co.uk/vote. It couldn’t be easier, simply log in with your University password then cast your vote.

This year we have introduced a Candidate Information Pack, to let you know exactly what each of the elected positions involve, how to run your campaign successfully and to answer any other questions that you may have about the Elections. The pack also contains your Nomination Form.

Student Elections 2010

STUDENT ELECTIONS- ANY Student can run for ANY position!

Earn £14,000 plus phone&council tax paid(and many other hidden benefits!!) There are three full-time paid positions. These are called Sabbatical positions which you need to either take a year out of studies for, or be finishing your studies this year. However there is also a number of part-time Officer positions available to take on during your time at University.

All Officer positions require students for the role.

The Election dates are as follows:

24th February – Nominations Open (you need to nominate yourself as a candidate by getting 30 signatures… from RGU students supporting your nomination)

10th March – Nominations Close

10th March onwards – campaigning begins! Get your message across to students so they vote for you

24th – 31st March – online voting opens with the results announced on the 31st march 2010.
