Get Involved

RGU: UNION is run by students, for students!

You can get involved with the Student Association and University in many different ways. The largest group by far are the course reps followed by School or Faculty reps and then student officers and sabbatical (full-time, paid) officers of the Students’ Association.

  • Class Reps
  • School/Faculty Reps
  • Officers
  • Sabbatical Officers (aka Presidents)

Class Reps
Class Reps are elected by their classes to represent the class on the SSLCs (Student Staff Liason Committees). Once elected, reps go to a short training session at the beginning of the year.

Check out www.rgu.ac.uk/studentinvolve for more information
School Reps
A School Rep is a student who represents the interests of the students in their School to the University. They sit on School Academic Boards and make sure that students are at the heart of decision making.
Check out www.rgu.ac.uk/studentinvolve for more information
Officers
Officers are elected every year in big campus-wide elections. Officers are there not only to represent students at an academic level, but to enhance the student journey by running the Union including Societies, Sports Clubs, Union Bar, Health, Advice and many more.
Check out the Elections page for further details
Sabbatical Officers
Sabbatical Officers (aka Presidents) are students who are elected in the campus-wide elections and take a year out of their studies to represent you on a full-time level.
