How would you like to be like Mike? And I'm not talking Michael Jackson, I'm talking Michael Jordan. Now not everyone who reads this has the opportunity to go to North Carolina on a Basketball Scholarship but if your reading this you have the chance to come to RGU. Which also means you have the chance to be apart of the RGU Mens Basketball team.

RGU Mens Basketball caters for all levels of ability and fitness. For those of you who want to be a good Basketball player, RGU has the facilities and talent to help. It's all about playing Basketball and most importantly having a great time doing it.

RGU Basketball currently has two 2 hour practices a week, as well as games covering both semesters. This year we have two teams, of which the majority of people are eligible for both. We compete in the University league, only division two this season but looking forward to the challenge of going back up to division one. The road trips to other universities in Scotland are always a great laugh and give us an opportunity to visit other cities (and their student unions).

Also we compete in the Local League which will give you a chance to play, or should I say beat, our cross town rivals Aberdeen Uni. In addition to playing in various places in Aberdeen which will let you get to know the place better.

The facilities down at RGU:SPORT in Garthdee are fantastic and we play all our home games across the entire games hall. The training is also held at garthdee but on individual courts in the hall. You need to visit RGU:SPORT at least once to see how impressive it truely is.

As a club we often meet up outside of training, especially after a win, for a range of activities. Whether its a quick pick up game at an outdoor court or a night on the town, it has always been a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and i hope to welcome you soon to the RGU Basketball team.

I look forward to seeing you at practice.

Ladies Basketball

We also have a ladies basketball team.
