The Union is here to represent and support you, making sure that your time at RGU is the best it can be.
We are an independent registered charity, governed by our own constitution. Although separate from the University, we are supported by them and work with other organisations to provide you with everything you need, whether academic or social.
The Union is much more than just a night out. We provide our members with a variety of services and opportunities, allowing you to experience something new and rewarding.
Who runs the Union?
The students do! Elections are held during the second semester of each year, where you vote in the students who will run the Union on your behalf. These elected students answer to you, so it’s important to let them know what you want from your time at RGU. Any student can run for election, take a look at our elections pages to find out more.
What is the Executive Board?
The Executive Board meets regularly to make important decisions on behalf of the students. The board is chaired by the Student President and is attended by a number of elected officers. Any student can put forward a motion for the Executive Board to discuss, simply contact the Student President
The Sabbatical Officers
The Union is managed by 3 elected students. Each are paid a salary and work full-time along- side the General Manager and Union staff. Your Sabbatical Officers are:
Student President
Vice President (Union & Societies)
Vice President (Sports)
