What is the MV Award?
The MV formally Millennium Volunteers Initiative encourages young people to volunteer and gain recognition for their achievements. A new certificate for 50 hours has been introduced alongside awards for 100 and 200 hours of volunteering. The time limit for completing hours has been extended to 2 years.
Who Can be a MV?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, then you can be a MV! |
Being an MV is all about getting involved in local issues that you care about. You can make a real difference to others while at the same time gaining experience, confidence and skills. Through volunteering you can make a positive difference to your life and the community.
If you are already volunteering you need to discuss this with the volunteer co-ordinator who can help you sign up for MV. You may be able to count some previous volunteering towards your award but this will need to be discussed and agreed with the Volunteer Co-ordinator.
As the Volunteering Co-ordiinator is leaving in May 2008 please contact Catriona Hogg if you have any queries about your MV until further notice.
