Class Representatives

Within a few weeks of starting the year, each course should elect a Class Representative. The Rep’s job is to gather information from class mates on how their course or university life is going.

Class Reps feed this information back to the University and Students Association officers so that any problems can be addressed or positive experiences highlighted. You’ll also find out what’s going on at RGU first!

All Class Reps will be trained by an organisation called SPARQS (Student Participation in Quality Scotland) on how to be the most effective representative possible. This should mean you will be confident and prepared should you attend any staff-student liaison meetings or be asked to sit on any of the university’s subcommittees.

All trained Reps get a SPARQS certificate so you can put this achievement on your CV!

RGU also recognises student representation achievement at an annual awards ceremony where the winning students can receive full university colours. Your time put in as a Rep also counts towards MV awards.

Contact our Student Development & Volunteering Co-ordinator for more information on becoming a class rep.
