Hi, this is Muneeb, and I am running for the position of Postgraduate Student Representative at Academic Council. I hail from Pakistan and pursuing an MSc. in Construction Project Management at RGU as a Saltire Scholar.
The role of academic council representative is of huge importance regarding student daily problems and issues during their studies and an effective bridge must be present between student and university’s academic council. I believe I can act as a reliable and strong nomination from students’ side there by proposing student backed academic proposals and by iterating “What Students want” with a strong clarity.
If elected, following will be my top priority objectives:
- I will work to bring relief in terms of academic pressure and stress that also affect students’ mental health, I believe there is a room of improvement in academic assessments and assignments model at RGU which can decrease academic burden from students’ head.
- The academic content specifically for more theoretical courses should include practical exposure by having industrial visits and other activities, I will work for this inclusion in courses outlines so that students can witness practical face of their disciplines.
- I shall establish a forum for student issues, problems, opinions, feedback and proposal and with the help of that information I will shape students’ stance about academic matters at the council.
I have the experience of leading groups in past at my undergraduate school and with this role I can be your strong voice at the postgraduate academic council.
