Kaim Shop

Your creative re-use hub

Kaim Cottage, situated in a tucked away part of campus has undergone a transformation over the past two years to become a new hub of activities for the Kaim Shop initative, as well as a social spot away from the hussle and bustle of the busy teaching buildings.

Our opening times are accounted weekly on Facebook and Instagram (@rgugogreen), so make sure to follow us and check online before dropping by!

What's going on?

Swapshops

We're on a mission to build a more circular economy at RGU, one that see's value in things that would normally be thrown into Landfill, left neglected at the back of the shed, or left lingering at the back of the wardrobe. Two seperate swaphop areas will display a whole assortment of items ranging from cookwear, crockery and household items to DVD's and books, with another area containing a variety of clothing and textiles. What's even better is that you don't have to swap! Feel free to take, borrown or donate, and remember to bring things back if you decide you no longer need them.

Workshops

Harnessing the creative talents of our staff and volunteers, the Kaim Shop offers a host of innovative ideas for re-using and up-cycling old clothes, fabrics and textiles to create interesting, trendy, and unique clothing and soft furnishings. Running on a monthly basis, these events give you an opportunity to learn new skills, embrace your creative side, and discover how to give your favourite things a new lease of life!
