It has come to the attention of the University and the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) that there have been a number of fraudulent emails issued to students recently pretending to be from SAAS.  The emails attempt to convince you that your SAAS web account has been accessed without your knowledge and requests personal information such as your bank account details.

Please ignore these emails and be assured that SAAS will never email you directly requesting personal details such as bank account details or SAAS login details.

An example if the fraudulent emails is shown below for information, do not respond to any part of it.

If in the unlikely event you have responded to one of these fraudulent emails you should contact your bank in the first instance to explain what has happened and you should then contact SAAS (0300 555 0505) or email the fraud unit.  In this situation the Union and the University can only refer you to SAAS and your bank for help.
