Why Log Your Hours?

Any volunteering you do during your time as a student at RGU can be logged with us, this can lead to you getting a volunteering hour certificate, this is applicable to postgraduate and undergraduate students. If you are a full-time undergraduate student we are able to add your hours to your university HEAR record. By logging your hours, you are able to confirm your volunteering and employers will be able to see what you've done which all full time undergraduate students can access via Gradintel, so it is very important to make sure you get credit for your efforts.

How To Log Your Hours

Logging volunteering hours is now closed!

You can keep track of any volunteering hours you do from March 2026 to Feb 2027 via this link here: Profile. This will take you to your profile page and you can note down all your hours so that for the next volunteering years you can easily log your hours since all the information is already at hand.

Any queries connected to volunteering can be directed to volunteering@rguunion.co.uk

Student Achievement Awards

As we need to log all the volunteering in time for the Student Achievement Awards Ball each year, we log hours from March to February. The current period for logging hours is from March 2025 to February 28th 2026.

After submitting your hours to RGUSU, you should consider nominating anyone that you volunteer with for an award at the Student Achievement Awards Ball. Nominations will open soon and tickets for the event are available to buy now and come off sale on the 27th of March 2026.

Other Awards to Consider

For those who are aged 25 or younger, you can also sign up to the Saltire Awards, which is a Scottish Government scheme to reward young people for their volunteering. It's separate to our volunteering logging scheme but is well worth signing up to if you are eligible as Saltire Awards are recognised by employers across the country.
