About Us

RGU Islamic Society is dedicated to uniting the Muslim ummah across RGU. We work closely with the Aberdeen University Muslim Students’ Association (AUMSA) to put on events for everyone to enjoy — a partnership that brings the Muslim student community across both universities together. Our biggest event of the year is the Charity Dinner. It’s the highlight of our calendar a proper night out with good food, good company, and all proceeds going to a cause we choose together. Whatever else you make it to, make it to this one, in shaa Allah.

Membership gets you our famous Halal Discount Card, with discounts at halal restaurants across Aberdeen, plus reduced entry to our events all year. Full discount list is tbc.

What we get up to

  • Food & socials: freshers dinners, iftars, BBQs, games nights, quiz nights, brothers’ socials, hikes, bowling
  • Sports: football and badminton tournaments
  • Creative: henna nights, calligraphy nights, cake decorating, tote bag painting, mug painting
  • Faith & fundraising: guest speaker events, workshops, dawah stalls, bake sales
