President (Sport & Physical Activity)
I bring strong personal experience in sport alongside active Union engagement. I was a competitive badminton player, won a tournament in 2016, and later worked as a badminton coach, developing leadership and training insight. At RGU, I serve as a Class Rep and Society Media Officer, strengthening student representation, organisation and participation, all skills that I will apply to enhance sport and inclusivity.
I bring strong leadership, organisation and communication skills through my roles as a Class Representative and Media Officer. My experience as a teacher, trip manager and coach has strengthened my ability to plan effectively, manage responsibilities, coordinate logistics and motivate others. These roles have developed my teamwork and problem-solving skills. I am approachable, inclusive and committed to creating opportunities that encourage active participation and support students within sports
I aim to work directly with sports clubs to identify their core operational gaps and provide structured support based on real needs. This is realistic through consistent communication, accountability and collaboration with club leaders. It is a priority because clubs face ongoing logistical and management challenges that affect participation. Demand was clearly raised at the last AGM. I will achieve this through stronger coordination, clear planning systems and regular performance follow-ups.
I aim to strengthen sports club operations by fixing poor coordination, transport inefficiencies and weak communication with the Union. This is realistic through clear structure, accountability and direct collaboration with club leaders. It is a priority because logistical failures directly reduce participation and performance. Demand was clearly raised by clubs at the AGM. I will deliver this through consistent oversight, strict planning and transparent follow-up mechanisms.
My aim is to increase student participation in sports by improving visibility of opportunities and strengthening engagement with clubs. This is realistic through structured communication, targeted awareness campaigns and active collaboration with sports clubs. It is a priority because many students remain unaware or underrepresented in sport activities. I will achieve this by creating consistent promotion strategies, direct outreach and inclusive initiatives that encourage broader participation.
Many students are unaware of the services, facilities and support available to them in the university and RGU sports. The main issue is limited awareness, which prevents students from fully utilising available resources. I will work with other Student Presidents to strengthen communication, improve visibility of existing support, and ensure better coordination and outreach so students can easily access services.
