It's been a busy old summer of change at RGU. Freshers is over, and the semester has started, but something's different? What is going on at RGU:Union? Not to worry! Exciting things are almost here! Over the summer, the University has been developing a brand new Deeview Student Store and meeting room on Union Way, outside RGU:Union. This exciting project will give societies, sports clubs, and student groups a state of the art meeting space for them to use in the heart of campus as well as a new home for the Deeview Student Store!

It's been incredibly exciting to see the space develop and the new units going up. You can follow the full development with the images below:

It's looking great, and we're almost there, but you probably noticed that the shop still hasn't moved. While the original target was to have the full units finished by Freshers 2016, unfortunatly there has been a delay. Originally, the glass for the doors and windows of the meeting room and shop were not delivered on time, and then when they were delivered, the frames for the glass were the wrong size, so they need to make some small updates to finish the installation.

The good news however is that also part of the project was a link corridor between ABS and Union Way in RGU SPORT and this has now been completed and it is now open! It is expected that the glass shall be installed on the 8th and 9th October. Over the coming weeks the finishing touches shall be added including installing brand new astroturf for The Terrace social area, adding the branding and signage around the Union and getting the final furnaiture for the Boardroom. After this, the Deeview Store will be relocated from the Sir Ian Wood Building to Union Way.

It is expected that by the end of October, the all new Union Way will be open to be a vibrant, exciting, quirky space in the heart of the RGU Campus!
