In need of some fashion advice for this semester? Follow this guide with Do’s and Don’ts on what to wear to University and more importantly, what not to wear. By all means create your own styles and trends. Student life is about finding who you are, but here are some tips to get you started for the Autumn/ Winter season.

Do… wrap up warm in a coat.

Long length outerwear is ideal and looks stylish with jeans and boots. This is perfect for autumnal days.

Don’t… be tempted to turn up in your pyjamas.

We all love lounging around the house in them but this is a not for university! Go for comfy leggings instead.

Do… accessorise with bright colours.

The weather may be dull but lighten your day with a bold coloured handbag or scarf. Just because the sun isn’t shining doesn’t mean your fashion sense has to wither away!

Don’t… be afraid to mix and match textures.

For example, pair a knitted jumper with a leather jacket. Layering is stylish and practical for keeping you warm in chilly lecture rooms.

Do… invest in comfy shoes for walking between classes.

A good quality pair of trainers will last all year and they are currently on trend.

Don’t… over do the fur.

Whether it is real or fake fur, it is best to find a style that suits your shape. Less is more usually.

Do… use a strong backpack or shoulder bag.

Every module includes heavy textbooks which can be uncomfortable to carry and a good quality bag can be your stylish solution. Burgundy or black are popular colours for this season.

When you are struggling with university deadlines, dressing to impress can make you feel inspired. You will look pulled together even when not feeling your best during the colder months. Adapt these Do’s and Don’ts to suit your own style, as this is the best way to achieve these Autumn/ Winter looks.
