Alloa Athetlc hit the highest scoring game of the round in their 2-0 win over Greenock Morton - two penalty kicks sealing a win which takes them out of the relegation zone.

Fellow strugglers Partick Thistle weren’t so lucky. Their 1-0 defeat against Inverness Caley Thistle leaves them second from bottom, two points above bottom. Tom Walsh was the man to condemn Partick, ending a run which saw Inverness draw seven consecutive games-Blair Spittal missing a penalty which would have drawn Partick level will make this bitter pill that much worse.

Especially as there’s life beneath them. Falkirk are enduring an awful campaign at the bottom of the table, but hope has been rekindled with their 1-0 victory against Dunfermline - only their second of the season with 13 games played. Zak Rudden was the hero on this occasion, as despite being outshot 14 to 3, Falkirk’s only shot on target saw them snatch a desperately needed win.

Rounding off the 1-0 results was Dundee United. Robbie Neilson’s men secured a win at second-placed Ross County which saw the gap between the two sides cut from four points to one-and both teams are now firmly in the upper-table dogfight.

Said dogfight is currently being lead by Ayr; with their 1-1 draw with Queen of the South proving a point gained rather than two lost thanks to County’s loss. That stretches their lead to four points, though with 13 games played and 8 points separating first from fourth, it’s shaping up to be a season-long scrap for supremacy in the second tier.
