Hey! My name is Matthew, and I am in 2nd year. I am applying to be social lead next year because I feel that I am well suited for the role for various reasons.
Since joining the pharmacy society last year, I have really enjoyed the socials that the committee had arranged for everyone. I really enjoyed the first semester adoption night as well as the re adoption night from this semester. It was great to see everyone having fun together.
If I was part of the committee next year, I will show effective teamwork and communication with the other committee members so that we can get ideas for potential social nights. Also, if elected I will be willing to work with other societies for potential collaboration social nights.
One social event that I am interested in running is pub golf which I feel everyone would be up for. I also want to run a themed social nights like the “pharmers/farm animals’ night”.
I am open to creating polls onto the society Instagram page so that everyone has a voice for social nights that they want.
Apart from just arranging social nights for the society I feel that I could be seen as a role model to the years below and be seen as someone they can go to speak to if they have anything they need advice on.
Being part of the committee would allow me to express the thoughts of other students which could be passed onto members of the committee.
To summarise:
· I enjoy yearly socials and want to plan more next year
· I feel that I would be great at organising socials
· I want the pharmacy society to win society of the year
· I’m a team player that works well with others
· I’m approachable
