Candidate for the position of 3rd Year Representative

AOIBHE MURRAY

My name is Aoibhe Murray and I would like to apply for the role of 3rd Year Representative. I feel as though I possess the qualities that are suited to this role, in addition to prior experience as 1st Year Representative in 22/23. From a young age the importance of effective communication using honesty and integrity, respect and teamwork has been instilled into my being and these qualities are another facet that I could add to the Pharmacy Society. I studied Spanish at higher level for six years and I am fluent in two other languages, contributing to my confidence to communicate effectively and appreciate nuances within cultures. I am a member of the Order of Malta ambulance corps and through this training I have delivered services to those who are socially excluded and forgotten and have put them to the fore. I was a member of a Youth Council in my city and was responsible for launching a report on Youth Mental Health during Covid-19. This offered me the opportunity to research, collate information, present and facilitate debate, which in return allowed me to ameliorate youth mental health facilities in my area. Five years of drama has nurtured my skills in community-based leadership, teamwork and organisation/ problem-solving skills. I have mindfully considered the challenges, demands, motivations and resilience required for this role. However, I feel I am capable for the role and it would be an honour to represent my peers and advocate on their behalf with any upcoming challenges.
