JAMES BISHOP

This job would mean A LOT for me to get. It is not something I would take lightly and would absolutely give my all throughout the whole year. I am reliable a good communicator and prepared to go the extra mile.

Why Vote For Me

  • I know the ins and outs of how sports clubs are run from 4 years in a club and one year on SPAT.
  • I am extremely approachable and genuinely willing to go the extra mile to help whatever it is you would need help with.
  • I am a very good communicator – if you have something to say or something is on your mind I will be able to help you in any way possible in an effective and appropriate manner.
  • I would be fair about everything. Every single sports club will get the best chance to thrive in order have the best year possible – along with everybody interested in sport.
  • I personally have the skills to run sports clubs well through effective communicating and efficient organization.

3 Key Aims Should I Be Elected

1) To increase the opportunities for those wishing to play sport but did not successfully get into a sport team (introducing recreational sports).

  • The goal here is to enable people who do not play sport with the university but want to, to be able to through playing recreationally when it pleases them. It is likely to be able to get numbers especially in certain sports, however all that is required would be facilities. If this is not capable of doing in the hall then there would need to be certain procedures put in place in order to acquire the correct facilities.

2) Ensure every single sporting achievement from a team or person is highlighted to the university - so all clubs and non-sport members are aware of the universities sport clubs success.

  • This would involve for example starting a weekly email with a newsletter highlighting the weeks sporting achievements, along with continuing the weekly episodes of purple Wednesdays for students to keep up to date.

3) Continue to ensure each and every sports clubs has sufficient members, the appropriate facilities and gear.

  • This I would intend to do by purely getting to know the club presidents and most members on a personal level and keep in regular contact in order to ensure their needs re met along with ensuring every club president has their say at each of the sports forums. I am aware this is expected anyway but going the extra mile by ensuring everyone is as comfortable as possible 24/7 would be the intention.

Finally - I intend to be that person everyone is comfortable raising any issues with, someone who is reliable and who everyone can feel they know. If you vote for me I will do all possible to make all sporting aspects of your life as easy as possible.
