Experience

I have organised and volunteered at several events over the past few years. From being a waiter to head coordinator at charity events, I have gained a good understanding of how events are run from the bottom up.

Rohingya dinner

The emergency dinner for Rohingya was set up and managed by me and one of my fellow colleagues in a very short time scale to raise funds to supply shelter food and clean water. this dinner not only raised funds but proved to us that anything could be achieved with the right people and the right effort.

Eid in the park

Eid in the park is a family event hosted by penny appeal. Here, I worked as the volunteer coordinator, managing a group of 120 volunteers and making sure everyone's needs were met and that they were doing their job to a satisfactory level. This event turned out to be a success not only once, but two years in a row. This proved to me my skills of being a team member/leader it showed I could lead a team and achieve tasks and do better than what's expected from me.

Why I feel I’m the best candidate for.

Besides having a diverse amount of experience working in entertainment and events, I am a people's person- easy to communicate with and always willing to take onboard other people's ideas and suggestions. I can expand on the ideas given to me by the students and give the people events that they want.

My aims

Increase and diversify the number of events at the University for students to enjoy out with their classes. Improving the overall Uni experience for all students.

Work with the university to exceed people's expectations of events.

Work with students to help them set up their own events- helping them gain experience and boost their confidence.

Giving the student bands or musicians a chance to perform and provide live entertainment every now and then

Bringing students together through culture by getting them involved in cultural events and in turn educating students on different cultures and customs.
