Hi, I’m Laura Watchman and I’m running to be one of your student trustees! I may look rather familiar to some of you through my work as part of this years fresher’s team, as Vice-President of Mental Wellbeing and President of Dumbledore’s Army; RGU’s very own Harry Potter Society!
Student Trustees are responsible for ensuring RGU Union is serving you to the best of its ability. The role allows trustees to help direct the union’s strategic directon, financial wellbeing and operaton within legal parameters.
As a student of RGU and my time studying Accountancy and Finance has equipped me with the necessary knowledge to confidently fulfil the financial and business aspects of the role succinctly. I plan to apply this knowledge in the most forward thinking manner as possible.
Personally, I’d love to hear from you about any improvements you would like to see, especially regarding mental health. As someone with mental health illnesses and the rise of students seeking support, I am well aware of how important mental health is to everyone and how much the correct support can help.
