What relevant experience, skills and qualities do you have that make you a strong candidate for this elected position?

A driven individual with extensive experience in sales, customer relationship management, and marketing strategy, I excel in building and retaining relationships through genuine engagement. My leadership style focuses on active listening, empathy, and commitment to meeting needs. As a dynamic leader deeply committed to inclusion, collaboration, and service, I possess a natural ability to unite people and ensure opinions are respected.

Rooted in a life of service from my home country to volunteering roles in Aberdeen, I've demonstrated a passion for selfless endeavors, from supporting orphanages to empowering community youth. My journey through undergraduate studies, an MBA, and now an MSc has honed my leadership skills and understanding of communication dynamics. Through active participation in various professional and student groups, I've cultivated empathetic communication and a deep understanding of diverse issues. I am dedicated to collaborating closely with fellow students to address needs, acknowledge concerns, and represent your interests effectively.

Priority Aim 1

Enhancing Communication Channels.
Communication is the lifeblood of any thriving community. This makes it important that all communication channels must be at its optimal and effective.

I seek to fix the breakdown in communication between the student bodies and the university.

1. Implementing regular town hall meetings where students can openly express concerns, share ideas, and engage in constructive dialogue.

2. Establishing an online platform for anonymous feedback, ensuring that even the most hesitant voices have a chance to be heard.

3. Improving transparency by providing clear and prompt updates on academic policies, and decisions that affect student life.

Priority Aim 2

Promoting Inclusion And Diversity.
True democracy thrives on inclusion and representation.

I want to solve the problems of students, and student parents non participation in school activities, forums, and events.

1. Advocate for diverse representation in student government and decision-making bodies, actively seeking out perspectives from underrepresented groups.

2. Create avenues for student input in the decision-making process, such as surveys and focus groups, to ensure that policies reflect the needs and aspirations of the entire student body.

3. Ensuring core union forums and democratic meetings are hybrid so all students can participate.

Priority Aim 3

Fostering a Culture of Civic Engagement.
Democracy is not just a concept; it is a way of life.

I seek to put an end to inability of both international and foreign students getting a job for more than 6 months of coming into the country.

1. Cultivating partnerships and seek commitment with civic, and private organisations and government agencies to provide students with opportunities for civic service, leadership development, and job opportunities when they arrive, as well as after graduating from the university.

2. Organising workshops, seminars, and events that promote civic education, critical thinking, and active citizenship.

What is the biggest issue currently facing RGU students, and how will you work with the rest of the Student Presidents and Vice Presidents to tackle this?

The biggest issues currently facing the students is the challenges with the tuition, also the communication tone from the school in respect to the tuition. This affects mostly the international students and it has resulted to a lot of mental stress and inability for the students to focus with their studies.

I will collaborate with other union executives to make sure these students are able to get jobs that can foot the bills. I will make sure we work with government and private organisations to reduce their demands for 6 months experience from fresh international students, and train them instead.
