What relevant experience, skills and qualities do you have that make you a strong candidate for this elected position?

As a former Team Lead for the Customer Service at First City Monument Bank, and a current student rep , I have improved in my communication skills, conflict resolution, and leadership. These experiences have equipped me with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, address concerns, and drive positive outcomes.
I have also demonstrated my commitment to advocating for student interests and facilitating positive change within our academic community. Through this role, I have honed my leadership skills, developed strong relationships with the staff and other student reps, and worked collaboratively to address student concerns and improve the student experience.


Priority Aim 1

Improve Student Support Services,

This is very important because many students are not aware of these services. The expansion of student support services tailored to the needs of students. This should include improving accessibility and awareness of the wellbeing and mental health support group, and peer mentorship initiatives to help students succeed academically and also socially.


Priority Aim 2

Introducing International meals to RGU.

RGU is known for being diverse and inclusive, with over 150 countries represented within the student body. The aim is to further enhance the university's multicultural environment by providing student with the opportunity to enjoy a variety of cuisines from around the world. This will demonstrate RGU's commitment in inclusivity, celebrate diversity and enhance student experience.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN:
Collaborations with RGU dining services and some international restaurants to develop a menu featuring international dishes.
Create awareness
Feedback and input.


Priority Aim 3

Improve social life in RGU.

This is to improve students experience at RGU by introducing outdoor games, inter-departmental competition, school festivals/ concerts.
By implementing these initiatives, we can create a more vibrant and inclusive social scene at RGU, enriching the student experience and strengthening our sense of community. I believe that investing in social activities is essential for promoting student engagement, mental well-being, and overall satisfaction with university life.


What is the biggest issue currently facing RGU students, and how will you work with the rest of the Student Presidents and Vice Presidents to tackle this?

Adequate student support.

By collaborating with other student president and vice presidents to identify the root cause and providing suitable means of resolving them within the capacity of the institution.
