Sometimes it feels like there is a lot of efforts being made to be heard but not enough listening.
Students shouldn’t have to ask repeatedely before being answered. Wouldn't you agree?
My name is Opeyemi Adedeji. I am an entrepreneur, an advocate, a mental health nursing student and hopefully your future representative at the student union.
My core skills have always been communication and compassion and I want to use these to strategically prioritize the needs and interests of my fellow students.
As a student joining RGU during the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the adjustments that been made as a consequence of the pandemic have unfortunately impacted expectations. This is a sentiment that I and other colleagues who I have spoken to share.
Some of us have doubts and some of us fear we might not be getting the full experience be it academic or non academic.
Together we will come up with ways for us to get the full university experience regardless of what hurdles are in the way. As the age old saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way.
As someone from an ethnic minority, I also have a special interest in creating ways for diversity to be recognized and accommodated especially in terms of activities and services offered in the university.
