My name is Joel Adebanjo and I am now enrolled at RGU, where I am pursuing a Master of Laws in Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy.
I've been an avid sports fan throughout my life. From my adolescent years, I've represented several institutions at the highest levels of football, while also playing a variety of crucial positions in sport.
I represented my institution in soccer during my college years, and many of these voyages were successful. As a lawyer, I represented my firm in some of Nigeria's most prestigious competitions.
Intriguingly, I have a few soccer honours from my time in Aberdeen. Having said that, rest assured that I am not a stranger in the world of sport or its management. I served as the University's Sport Secretary, organising a variety of contests in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and other sports. To name a few, the Vice President, Sport role is another role that I am eager, prepared, and willing to take on, leveraging my years of expertise.
If elected, I would work with Jordan Moore, President (Sport & Physical Activity), and other union Executive members to accomplish my objectives throughout my stay in office.
I am a man of few words, I am a sportsman, not a politician. I intend to impact visible and plausible improvements in the RGU sporting community. The institution is composed of a diverse group of nationalities, each bringing unique sports abilities and abilities to the table (One RGU, Many Nations). I intend to make maximum use of this benefit. I envision the university's athletic community and many sports clubs representing the school around the United Kingdom, Europe, and the rest of the world.
I am aware of the numerous sports clubs registered within the community, and I pledge to identify with each and every one of them, and perhaps even engage in a few of them and find some hidden skills.
I depend on you to make these dreams a reality.
Best wishes.
