Vote For Progress, Efficiency and Experience.
My name is Joel Adebanjo, and I am now pursuing a Masters degree in Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Law.
I always have been a fan of the sport and a driving force in student government during my time at university. I am the University's current Vice President, Sports. I also a member of the RGU Football Club. During my undergraduate years, I represented my university in soccer, and many of these journeys were successful. I also held major positions in sports governance, such as Director of Sport, during my Undergraduate. As a lawyer, I represented my firm in some of the most prominent events in Nigeria. I have also proudly donned the colour Purple and bled purple.
As the current Vice President Sport, I have learned first-hand what the function of the President Sport and Physical Activities is, as well as how to handle the requirements of sports clubs and individuals. I am grateful to everyone who has given me the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
Sport is an important part in our society and community, and it should be prioritised. University sport is also an essential aspect for many students because it can be a gateway to becoming a professional athlete, as well as a way for some to relieve stress and have fun.
COACHING FACILITY
As President, I will ensure that proper coaching facilities are in place, as well as that there is some sort of incentive to attract the greatest coaches for our sport clubs. We can all agree that the success of a club is determined by how well and efficiently it is handled. We intend to establish a well-organized coaching department to aid in the development of our budding stars within Sport Clubs and to assist Sport Clubs in performing exceptionally well in tournaments such as the BUCS.
SPONSORSHIP DEAL
As Vice President, Sport, I have been working hard to acquire some big-name sponsors for the sport clubs. This will benefit the clubs financially and allow them to compete on a bigger scale without budgetary constraints. This demonstrates why we must all work together to preserve continuity. These sponsors will help us with the purchase of jerseys, training outfits, and other necessities. We work hard to train, and it bothers me both personally and professionally because sportclubs members have to pay for most of thier training equipment and kits, as well as pay for the administration of it after each match. We also hope to offer some form of incentive to sport members, such as store discounts or gift cards. This will be open for deliberation with Club presidents and other executive members
FULL PARTICIPATION
Another essential aspect of my objective is to encourage more sport groups to compete in series of competitions in the United Kingdom and internationally. Purple is a beautiful colour, and we should fly and wear it proudly. We plan to participate in certain local and international leagues and competitions, as well as host a few. We hope to reintroduce sports to Aberdeen, the Granite City. During this time, we will collaborate with scouts, international and national sports clubs, and teams in order to assist Sport club members at the university in obtaining professional deals and becoming a part of the professional sports society.
SWIMMING AND GYM MEMBERSHIP
In addition, looking at sport from the standpoint of fun and physical activity, I will ensure that all students' Gym memberships remain free. I intend to work with the University's Sport Department to further enhance the University Gym in any way feasible, as well as to ensure that more students attend the Gym on a regular basis. In order to accomplish this, we will hire gym instructors to teach gym classes, making the Gym a more fascinating place to come. We will also collaborate with the sports department to ensure that the swimming pool is open and free to all students.
All of this will be done while ensuring and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion among our sports clubs and members. I have faith in you to make this happen. The future is in our hands, and the future is determined by your vote. Vote for Consistency and Experience.
