As the 57°10 Architecture Society enters its 36th year, we continue to invite inspiring architects and designers from a range of disciplines to host a lecture before going out for dinner and drinks. These lectures, which are open to both students and members of the public, are held every Thursday in our facilities in RGU’s Sir Ian Wood Building.
In addition to the weekly lectures, we also host regular social events. This stems from our belief that architecture should be sociable and fun, and from our conviction that maintaining a healthy work/life balance is essential to getting the most out of our studies. In the past, socials included beer pong, gallery visits, sketch clubs, and life drawing sessions.
The society also aims to provide an informal social outlet for students, built environment professionals and other like-minded people. This year, we aim to emphasise the importance of diversity within the field of architecture, believing that these elements are crucial for students going into practice.
